Do Not Build screens software markets. It gathers evidence about who already serves a market, scores it on five axes, and publishes a verdict — build, caution or avoid — with the evidence it came from.

It is a measurement and a model's judgement, not advice, and not a prediction. Nothing here is investment, financial, legal or professional advice. We are not your advisor and you should not treat a verdict as a reason to commit money or time on its own.

The readings are also incomplete in ways the tool itself reports. A crawl reaches a bounded number of sites; a data provider can time out; a concentration figure can be too thin a sample to stand up. Where that happens the screen says so and withholds the reading rather than guessing — which is the most useful thing it can do, and is not the same as being right.

The decision is yours. We do not warrant that any verdict, score or figure is accurate, complete or current, and we are not liable for what you build or do not build.

You need a working email address and you must be at least 16. Keep your credentials to yourself — anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got in.

An account can have several members with different roles. Whoever owns the account controls who may spend on it and what the monthly limit is.

• Bulk-extract the corpus — scraping, crawling or automating the interface or the API to copy the markets, screens or evidence in it. Reading and exporting your own work is fine; taking the collection is not.
• Resell, republish or redistribute the corpus, or use it to build a competing screen.
• Share an account to avoid paying for one, or work around the spend limits.
• Upload anything to the analyst that you do not have the right to share with us and our model providers.
• Anything unlawful, or anything that degrades the service.

• Reading is free. Running is not. Probes and screens spend real money at third-party data providers and model providers. The price is quoted on the button before you press it.
• A completed run is not refundable. By the time you have a verdict the spend has already happened on our side. A run that fails and produces nothing does not count against you.
• Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled, and cancel at the end of the period you have paid for. You can cancel any time from your account settings; we do not refund part-months.
• Prices can change. We will tell subscribers before a change affects them.

Yours: what you upload, what you ask the analyst, and the notes and stances you record. You keep all rights to it. You give us permission to store and process it so we can run the service for you, and nothing more.

Ours: the software, the scoring, the corpus, and the screens and evidence in it. Your subscription buys access to use it, not ownership of it. What you conclude from a verdict, and anything you go on to build, is entirely yours.

We do not promise the service is uninterrupted. Runs depend on third-party providers that can be slow, rate-limited or down; when that happens a screen drops the contribution it could not get and records it rather than failing outright. Provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost opportunity, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited — fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Close your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why unless doing so would make the problem worse. On closure your access ends and your data is handled as the privacy page describes.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer, you keep the protections and the courts of the country you live in.

We will update the date at the top and tell account holders by email before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means the new version applies.
